Using a joint sponsor for an adjustment of status visa, F1 to permanent resident via marriage. The joint sponsor fills out a separate Form I-864 and attaches lat year's income tax return as well as proof of citizenship/legal residence (birth certificate will do). Is this correct?
I read that a self-employed joint sponsor may need to submit the following:
Provide the past three years tax transcripts (NOT tax returns) from IRS.gov. Three years because for self-employed you want to show consistency of income.
Provide the Schedules C, D, E, and F (if applicable) for at least the most recent year.
Provide the valid business license
Provide a copy of the most recent quarterly taxes (or two). To illustrate current income.
Is this accurate information? If the joint sponsor is married and files jointly, will we need birth certificates for both spouses? (even though the business is a sole proprietorship under one name?)
