  • i485 timing of non-concurrent application

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out what are the current processing times for the application (Nebraska service center, EB2 rest of the world i.e. not India, China, Philippines etc).
My i140 was processed earlier with a priority date of October 2015 (so current) and received in July 2016. I filed my i485 in June 2017 and just finished my fingerprint appointment.

Assuming all paperwork is in order, what are some of the timing we've seen recently?

I've heard different answers so I'm looking for additional data points (heard 8-10 months from company's law firm, 6 months from an immigration lawyer, 4 months from a friend of friend in similar situation).

Please let me know what you've seen.

8-10 months seems to be the most likely outcome

I would plan for it to take a whole year, maybe longer in this enviroment

I left my questions to this thred because this is so fast and I hope mine which has very similar timeline can also be approved soon. How come the difference in the processing time can be this much big?

      Hi all,

I have been a silent reader in these blog, but turns out today I received a notification email/text from USCIS, as I have set up an account, that the status of my -1485 changed to "New Card is Being Produced" only to my application not Spouse yet. What does this mean?

We have been waiting to receive the EAD/AP, which is still case received on 06/22.

      These are my timelines:
      > 06/20/2017 -- Concurrent Filing including my dependent Spouse, with TSC (Texas Service Center) i-140, i-485, i-765, i-131, --- EB3.
      > 07/05/2017 -- Cases Received from USCIS.
      > 07/07/2017 -- i-140 Premium "Approved".
      > 06/25/2017 -- i-485 "Fingerprint Fee Was Received".
      > 06/20/2017 -- i-765, i-131 Status "Case Was Received". Never changed.
      > 07/18/2017 -- Bio taken, done.
      > 08/22/2017 -- SRCxxxxxxxx i-485 status changed to "New Card is Being Produced".

      Questions:
Is is possible USCIS to approve i-485-GC without approving EAD/AP?
Why my Spouse's i-485 status has NOT changed yet?

      Thanks in advance..

        Thanks for the reply inadmissible.
Quick question - how does that differ from concurrent i140/i485? I'm hearing exact same timeframes for concurrent and non-concurrent; shouldn't the i485 alone with prior approval of i140 be faster? Would love to know more.

          In theory, yes

          In practice, no

The troubles of USCIS's fine tuned machine... thanks for sharing your thoughts.

If anyone has another take, I'd appreciate it.
