Oh. I called and level 2 ask me to wait till end of the month. Of course I was being careful of expediting it cos I don't have any proof of employment. I am hopeful I should get a positive news before the end of the month.

Okay..I think the approval is done randomly depending on the officer in charge of your file

      • When is the right time to contact congressman for assistance

I found out that the processing time has been updated without and back dated to July 1 for EAD/AP applications. My application has been pending for 80 days now. No update, no mail, no response to SR, and level 2 officer could only ask me to wait till end of the month. I am thinking perhaps I am not proactive enough, as people expedite and contact congressmen to help them fasten their applications. Do I need to wait 90 days before contacting congressman, or I can go ahead as at 80 days of pending.

In order to expedite you need to have a legitimate reason, like say a job offer or financial issues. I submitted a case inquiry on my 89th day. Never heard a reply. Went to the Congressman's office and asked them for help. Not sure if it helped but the day that the office assigned my case to someone, I received my interview notice and that was 10/10. My PD is 6/6 for I-485. I received my EAD and AP 10/17. Sometimes being too proactive can make things worse since there are thousands of people who are waiting just like you are. Also, keep in mind that people from 2016 and even 2015 haven't gotten an update, so be patient.

I know where you are at. I have been there. Frustrated and inpatient. But in the end, it worked out. For some the process goes by fast and for others it goes by very slow.

Biometrics letter in mail 6/17 w/ 6/28 date
          SR 9/2
          Contacted Congressman 10/1
          Called the Congressman's office 10/10
          Interview letter 10/10
          Approval Letters for I-765 and I-131 10/16
          Received EAD/AP card 10/17

Ok. Thank you. I just felt now should be the best time to get the EAD since many September applicants got it, also this time of the year can also be a good time to get employed. I will keep applying for jobs, and probably wait till Monday before I contact congressman.

Yes that is the idea and would be nice but seems like this forum live in anarchy with no MODS whatsoever. I dont like it either but what can you do

                        • Contacting Congressman

im having trouble finding my local congressman. i tried googling it but its not really giving me much info. do i just go to either the senate.gov or house.gov and put in our zip codes to find the local congressman? do people normally write to them or do they just walk in without an appointment? im only on day 92 of my i-485 and feel that it may be too early to raise questions.

Come ooon you go to google.com and you type in " who is my representative" Then the first website you click on and enter your ZIP . Sorry but this is self explanatory.
Also google difference between Congressman/women and senator and who sits in what building and what the difference is / what they do . Without this knowledge you will fail the citizenship test... I mean as a citizen you want to know this stuff no ? Who helps me in my community like local politician ?

I-485 or I-765 ? Are you talking about your Work permit or Green card . For your I-485 its waaaaaay to early this can take 6-9 months easily depending on your location. some lucky people get interview in 4 but its only very few. Congressman wont help when its this early

                            • So I just got off the phone with 2 level officer....was inquiring about my RFE documents which were delivered and signed for on 11/20. Apparently they do not send any confirmation when they receive those....so I guess in this case the rule "no news are good news" also applies..My status still says "On November 2, 2017, we mailed a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status" but the officer told me that my case is ready and waiting to be scheduled for interview (YAY!!)....seems like the online status is just not working very well.

On the down side....he would not let me expedite my i-765 as I need a documented reason of a "serious circumstances"....so I guess that the fact that one hasn't been working for 4 months and could use another income...eventhough we are not starving....is not enough to expedite the case. He also informed me that right now the National Benefits Center (where my papers are) is currently processing cases from July 4, 2017...when I asked him how is it possible that only last week it said September 15, 2017 he responded that it's due to the "backlog" / ..my PD is 9/15...so I take it that I'm **** out of luck....just missed it it seems like.....just hoping I won't have to wait those extra 2 months if it goes right back to July 4's cases /...Anybody else have papers in the National Benefits Center (Lee's Summit, MO)?????

For me, I did not get any RFE. PD is 9/19/17. The Level 2 officer ask me to wait till end of month. I'm praying it comes before then. Did you ask him to make a SR? I made one online, but no update still.
