Have you raised SR?
Thanks Kaatti, thats good to know. Yes raised on day 75 and congressman is working on it also. They said we provided no evidence to prove my wife has enough income to support me, which isnt true as we provided pay slips but not 6mths worth as she only just started work as a teacher a month prior and she has no recent w2's since we have been in australia the past 3 years. So I just want to make sure I send enough evidence to this RFIE this time around.
We'll have 5mths of payslips, 3 years of tax transcripts and a letter of employment from her school on top of a bank statement of our joint account which has enough to cover the poverty guideline anyway. So should suffice. Ive calmed down now and ready to bring in the new year and get everything on track in January.

      • Medical Examination

So just a quick heads up...for those of you who are gonna go trough your medical in these few months...I was technically almost "forced" to have a flue shot as the physician said "it's flu season. it is required by the immigration that you get one"...when I said I really would not like to and don't thing it's a mandatory shot to have (as I'm against it) she technically said that she can't really force me but I'm risking my medical being refused......I had a terrible cold at that time (last week) so I told them I'd rather wait and get it next time ...you have to come back for your tuberculin test to be read anyways......got home...called the immigration office....and guess what....bulls**t...the officer said there is definitely nothing like that required and was quite surprised himself that something like that was even pulled on me....so guys if anyone tells you you have to get a flu shot feel free to refuse if you don't want it ;o)

        • Interview

Hello guys....has anybody gone through the interview yet? Mine is next Wednesday and needless to say I'm getting quite nervous. In the instruction on the interview notice they say to bring pretty much everything what we sent them with the applications..???...does anyone know it that's just in case we didn't send it in or they really want all of the supporting documents again? (talking about the birth certificates, sponsorship documents, pics, and any other material supporting the fact that it's bona fide marriage)....I'm a bit confused.

          Thanks for help

            Thanks for help
It is recommended that each one of you shows up with a clone of the packet you sent USCIS; including supporting documentation. If it's been a while since you sent in your AOS packet, then bring AS WELL:
            - most recent paystubs,
            joint checking statements,
recent use of health insurance - both on the same health insurance,
show you are still a beneficiary on each other's 401k, life insurance, accidental, etc.
            - if anything has changed, then bring that, too.
Basically, you're showing that you didn't just fabricate what you sent by opening all those accounts and policies and then closed them after you filed for AOS. You want to be ready with a "clone" of what you sent them; just in case, you two get separated. There's always that. A portion of the interview is also to verify that the information you entered on the form is correct. The ISO will pick sections of forms randomly and ask you or your spouse to verify the info. There is nothing to memorize. It is just easier to follow along if you have your own packet, because you can ask what form the ISO is on and what question number, etc and go to that exact question, look at it and verify it. Having the packet there gives you a sense of control of the situation.

Focus on solid evidence of financial ties, indisputable evidence that you two are building a life together and planning for a future together.

Don't be nervous. If you're a true marriage, there is no need to be nervous. Nerves can work against you. Just be confident in your marriage, make eye contact with the ISO when you answer questions. Stick to the questions you are asked. Do not guess. If you do not know, just say that.

Pictures, ******** posts and affidavits aren't strong evidence of bona fide marriage. If you did not send them strong evidence with your initial AOS application, they're expecting that you will have more to present like any couple who is building a future together would.

I went through one of these with my first marriage a century ago when I was very young and I guess a lot was forgiven because we were both so young. Times have changed. I am now on my second marriage filing for my spouse and I am gathering as much as evidence as I possibly can, to show that my spouse and I are a true marriage. You should, too. Do that now and you'll set the stage to get the I-751 interview waived.

We are here to help you. best of luck!

                • Interview

Hi guys...just wanted to give an update...we went through the interview this Wednesday...and I do have to say it was quite nerve wrecking...but I believe that even despite of the fact that our officer was like "Hitler's grandson with lumber jack facelift" (my husband's words) and really did a good job trying to catch us on pretty much anything he could by asking questions from different angles...I think we did good.....and yeah..we did get separated...I went first and my husband joined me about half an hour later....the only outcome I got was that the officer will either call us or send us a letter if he needs more information....so any idea what happens now??? Do we just wait?
