I told them I have a job offer since September, and that i checked back the opening at the company is still available...but truly I have a job offer..the tier 1 io try to discourage me..but I insisted on talking tier 2..I guess the first tier 2 officer I spoke with on 21st did the **** * because he spoke to me an assurance that my paper are just right by the corner...

9/26 Received email and text message update
      10/2 Received NOA in mail
      10/5 Received biometrics appointment notice
      10/6 Did a walk-in, bilmetrics done
      Here is some update....

11/20 2nd request to expedite EAD

12/1 Emailed congresswomen for help on expediting EAD, no response (on 11/29 EAD and AP have been approved already but no update on the website)

12/4 Received notice in the mail

I never received email or respond from the 10/13 request. I waited for a month then I called USCIS again to request to expedite EAD. I requested to talk to a tier 2 officer and she called me back in 1 or 2 hours, saying they have sent me a email on 10/16 requesting me to submit supporting documents. Then she provided me a fax # to submit the supporting document, and told me I'd better have a letter from my employer saying how much financial loss they would experience if I couldn't work.

I contacted my employer and ask them to provide me a letter mentioned above. And they told me it's going to take 2 weeks. So I went ahead and contact congresswomen on 12/1 for help but got no respond. At that time my EAD and AP have already been approved, but there is no update on the website so I thought they are still under review....

And on 12/4 (my birthday) I received the notice of approval in the mail.

Now the question is, how long would it take for the USCIS to mail the actual card?

My pd is 9/12. I received a notice 11/30 stating that my I-131 was approved and that they were going to mail my card soon. I heard the interview/green card was supposed to come before that. Has anyone else heard the same?

The I-131 is the Advance Parole. You have applied for Work Authorization I-765 right? That means that you will get your combination card. The ideal process is first you will get the work permit and then you will get the GC. Some people have been going straight to interviews. After you get your GC, your work permit is basically not needed because the GC serves as a document proving that you can work legally.

When you filled up your I-131 what do you put in the field which says "Class of Admission"? Is that the type of visa I came to US on? Also I don't have any specific dates or purpose of my trip (yet)...what do you put there?...I pretty much just decided to add the I-131 to my file as it's free to file while my Adjustment of status is in process and one never knows where there'll be a need to travel.

Class of admission is the visa subclass you entered the states with . Also the rest doesn't matter you can leave blank or put whatever in since you are adjusting status.

You sent a SR for the I-485 after 3 months? Do you think that will speed up the process? I'm approaching my 3 month mark, but I'm not really sure what contacting the Congressmen does or what to say to them.

You can still apply for I-765, just send them the form and your I-485 receipt so that they know that you paid for it. I submitted a case inquiry over the internet on my 89th day but that did nothing. And contacting your congressman has its benefits because they are in the government and by having them submit a case inquiry (SR), then you can get a response faster. Just go to the nearest office and just explain your situation. The people won't bite you.
