Country of birth Ukraine or USSR

Hey everyone! I'm filling out my I485 and not sure what to write in the county of birth. I was born in USSR in Ukraine which is now just Ukraine since USSR doesnt exist anymore. On my passport and already translated birth certificate it says USSR, on my marriage certificate it says Ukraine. What should I write as my country of birth?

For US passports you are supposed to put the country that the place of birth is currently in (which for you would be Ukraine), but I don't know if the same rule applies to immigration forms.
