I recall reading on some website (probably immihelp.com) that the case status information on the USCIS website is updated as soon as there is an update to your case, and that could occur at any time during the day. Are text message notifications sent at roughly the same time that a given case is updated in the system / on the website, or are the text messages sent in some type of batch or groups?

I recommend you get the App "Case Tracker & Searcher - for USCIS Immigration" on your phone. It gives you an instant notification when your status changes in the USCIS website. I noticed the text messages had a slight delay from when it was updated online.
