My spouse is a US citizen. We are from the same religion and of the same age. I filed my paperwork last year in july 2016 in Illinois.

    13th july 2016 I sent my paperwork.
22nd july 2016 Got confirmation that they received the paperwork.
12th sept 2016 I went for my Biometrics.
13th oct 2016 Received my EAD.
24th oct 2016 Received an email that they schedule my interview.
28th nov 2016 We went for an interview.

The interview did last for 15 minutes. it was a very normal conversation. They didn't even separate us. The interviewer said we will review and let you know about their decision. We made 3 info pass appointments and called the customer care several times but they give us the same answer that your case is being reviewed. if someone got married for the 2nd time, do you think it is reason for the delay?

If you feel your case has fallen through the cracks, contact your Congressperson to intervene on your behalf

Then chill. You can keep on renewing advance parole and employment authorization for as long as it takes for them to make a decision
