i-485 expired medical renewal for the interview

hi

i received email/NOA for AOS interview in NYC (Fed Plaza) in late oct 2017. i did my medical on 9/30/2016, which will be about 1yr1month old on the interview date. the NOA did not say anything about updated medical or any other documents for that matter. my question is if it's safe to assume that the "old" medical is still suitable for the interview or do i need to get an updated one? on one hand i'd hate to spend unnecessary money on updated medical which could be not needed, but on the other hand it'd suck to get RFEd for up to date medical during/after interview. opinions and or experiences are welcome. thanks in advance

If I were you I would get one done in advance before I go to the interview because according to rules and other experience The USCIS does not make a decision with an expired Medical form. If there has been any body who was not asked to renew The Officer probably overlooked it or forgot.
I'm willing to spend money and not need the form than go without it and get RFE meaning - making the process longer.

So this is more of a personal preference. What do you want to do. Cross the bridge when you get there or Plan ahead.

Also, I know the NOA did not ask for you to bring anything but you should. Look up things that people take to the interview that an I 'might' ask for.

However, I am very sure your medical record will not be valid past the due date. It's the rules.

Starting June 1, 2014, USCIS will limit the validity period for all Forms I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, to one year from the date of submission to USCIS. Applicants must also submit Form I-693 to USCIS within one year of the immigration medical examination.
Make a search at USCIS website and you will find it .

It says "one year from the date of submission" so I'm guessing yours is valid until the date you submitted your AOS package? I would call or make Infopass appointment to make sure, or find the cheapest doctor to transcript all the tests and vaccine just in case

yes one year from submission which means it should still be good until 11/21/2016 even though it was done on 9/30/2016. i'm going to make a new one anyways just to be on the safe side. better safe than sorry. I will also bring copies of all the documents that I've submitted with the original packet.
