  • Advance Parole granted but won't be able to travel abroad!!!!

Hello, just wanted to share my experience, I received a combo card ( EAD and AP) and since my Visa expired and was expired for 6 months or more they won't allow me back in the US with Advance Parole. So even though I received a combo card, I won't be able to travel abroad. I spoke directly with a CBP, since I was going to go to Mexico driving, and he explained to me that they have the decision to or not to grant parole into the US. It does not make sense why USCIS approved my I 131 but US customs won't allow me back in!!!! Sadly I will.miss my youngest sister's wedding

if ur country is a country that requires a visa to enter the united states and your visa is expired it would be assumed that with or without the parole u wouldnt be allowed back, unless u have ur permanent or conditional resident card or u have a USA passport after gaining citizen ship... why did did u know ur visa was expired b4 u applied for advance parole

Why I waited to apply for AOS after my Visa expired?? Because I was not married yet. That's how things happened and well now I will have to wait to be able to visit my family abroad.

I think you misunderstood. While the CBP can refuse to parole you back in, it is on very very rare occasions that they do refuse reentry. Even people with green cards can be refused entry. Whether you want to risk it or not is totally up to you.

Umm... the whole point of Advance Parole is to allow you to return to the US without a visa.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
