  • Is this unusual? Please help. Thank you!

    Hello everyone,

New to the forum. I think I have somewhat of an unusual situation....if anyone has had an experience like this please reply. I'm a USC and my hubby is the spouse beneficiary. We submitted our paperwork mid-August 2017 and already have an interview scheduled for 11/2/17. I'm sure that we will get that notice in the mail soon.

My hubby originally came in on an F1 visa a few years ago and completed his undergrad and MBA in the U.S. Currently he is on his OPT which runs out at the end of October 2017. He also has full-time employment.

There was no change yet on the status of his EAD. I'm hoping that his is normal and that we are just lucky to be scheduled for an interview so quickly since we mailed a lot of our supporting docs in with the package (pics, life insurance info, joint accounts, marriage license, divorce decree from my previous marriage etc.).

However, I am also a little worried because this is my 2nd marriage and I also sponsored my ex (9 years ago) who was a foreign national on the same type of visa and from the same country as my new hubby.

Could it be that this is sending red flags? I should also note that I'm a naturalized US citizen (originally from Europe - same country as my ex and new hubby).

    Here is our timeline:

    8/6/17 Married
8/12/17 Mailed completed package (I-485, I-130, I-765 & I-131) via UPS express mail to USCIS Chicago Lockbox
8/15/17 Package received by USCIS and this is also our PD
    8/18/17 They cashed our checks
9/11/17 Biometrics Appt (not sure when we received the notice it said it was for I-765 & I-485)
9/23/17 Checked case online "We are ready to schedule your case for an interview"
9/28/17 Checked case online "On September 28, 2017, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice...Your interview is on November 2, 2017"

We are filing on our own (no lawyer) from MO.

    Thank you all!
