Hi Everyone,
I applied for asylum 2 years ago. 150 days after application I applied for EAD and got it; it expired and I applied for a new one in May (still waiting on the new one to come). Shortly after I put in my asylum application, got married to a US citizen (it's been one year and a half now and we are now expecting baby number one.) I received my interview letter in the mail today stating that I have to interview in 2 weeks...One initiative my husband and I want to take is to file for an i130 (the packet is ready we just need to send it). The reason why we waited so long was because I was hesitant about the course of action we should take---the safest way for us to remain together, but didn't know exactly what to do
but my questions are.
How do I handle the interview since we are thinking about filing and i130
do I put my asylum case on hold?
If I put it on hold, will I still be able to have my EAD and continue employment?
How soon after your interview do they reach a decision?
I will greatly appreciate your contribution
Thank you
Rayy
