How do you know you were approved? Some people on the forum say the officer told them that they were approved but then they have been waiting for over a week and no GC.

Also congratulations!! One more question, if I do not get my EAD but I do get my GC even if it is conditional, can I work?

      Contacted Congressman 10/1
      Called the Congressman's office 10/10

If you have a GC of course you can work. You do not need an EAD anymore.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Okay thank you newacct. I am just really concerned that if I am not approved on the spot and I do not get the EAD, I will be unemployed once my current EAD expires in January.

sorry to rain on your parade but now you have your interview notice for well over three months in advance of your expiration of your EAD and you still arent satisfied. you only waited 4 months you should be grateful and stop being antsy. Yes you might be unemployed thats how it is . If it doesent come through in time. You dont really have a choice right now either get approved on spot or you dont. its in gods hands . good luck

there is many people here that waited 6-12 months for K1 visa and then another 6-12 months for AOS to come through WITHOUT being able to work .
You are one of the very fortunate people that were able to work while AOS is in process , be thankful 🙂

I appreciate your opinion mustang and I am grateful but I have every right to express antsy-ness. And yes I do know that many people who filed in 2015 and 2016 have not gotten their interview yet but like many on here who want the process over and be able to either continue working or start working, I need my income in order to support my parents, myself and help pay of my husband's student loans. The issue here, is that people jump to conclusions on this forum. I appreciate all the help and opinions but you do not know what situation I am in. And yes I have heard that I should not be complaining since I have an EAD already but by looking at how some cases are going, I do not want to end up in January with no GC or EAD. Yes I got the interview and I am beyond happy BUT there are people who have been waiting a long time after their interview and have not heard anything.

So please, refrain from making judgements on whether I am antsy or not and if I am, whether I have the right or not. We are all antsy, frustrated and our patience is fried.

Yes I understand all that but the point of my message was that its not in your hands whatever happen will happen and that you should be happy that you can work right now it just seems like a little slap in other peoples faces a little bit 🙂 I sure you understand that.

Believe me I wish I could do something to speed up everybody's cases but in my opinion, people who do walk-ins may cause the problem for those who have applied prior to them. I have seen people getting interview notifications when they submitted everything a month or two after me. Not being greedy or anything and I do not want this to be a slap in the face.

I was just saying in general. Prepare well for your interview and everything will work out fine. You can always tell the IO if they dont approve on the spot to issue you the work authorization if not ready to approve you right then and there. Have read about this few time already on this forum . They have that power

Also think early walk ins have a very little effect on the overall progress. Its totally random who gets what status update or interview notice besides from the ones that get RFEs

He told us we were approved an give us a notice of conditional permanent resident, which states the date I have been admitted and when I should file to remove condition, with filed office director signature stamp.

Hey, Can you please tell which category you applied in? What kind of questions were asked? I am scheduled for the interview on 17th, so I need to know your experience.
                        Thanks
