  • Is new i-94 issued with i-797 receipt?

We mailed the i-485, i-130, i-765 etc to the Chicago lockbox and received our receipt and case numbers today. We have not yet received the hard copy 797 in the mail, and we wonder if people have been receiving new i-94s with the 797 receipt. We have read online that this happens, but would like to know if people are actually recieving new i-94s. The applicant's i-94 expires on Saturday, and our receipts confirm that our AOS process is underway, however we live close to the southern border where CBP checkpoints are common, and feel better traveling with an updated i-94.

Has anyone here recently recieved a new i-94 by mail attached to the i-797 receipt notice?

    Co-Sponsor delay

Hi folks, we have. all our AOS papers ready since July. Sadly, the only form missing is I-864 from Co-Sponsor since USC spouse doesn't earn enough. Does it make sense dispatching what we got in our hands first to USCIS while waiting for Co-Sponsor?

No. Filing I-485 doesn't give you a status, so you will not have an I-94. You can remain in the US with a pending I-485 regardless of whether you have status or not.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
