  • Delay in Adjustment of Status

    Hi everyone,
Please I want to know if my case is taking too long or not.
I filed for change of status in August 2016,
got my EAD in Nov 2016, and in August 2017, USCIS fixed a date for our interview which was on the 7th of September, 2017.
5 days after the interview (09/12/2017), I was asked by mail to resend another medical exam as the old one as expired which I did and sent it to USCIS on 16th, sep.
since then, I have not heard from USCIS and with the normal news I get from people; that in two weeks after interview, one is meant to get the greencard; I am getting so worried and devastated everyday that goes by, with the thoughts of what might have gone wrong and what might be the outcome.

Well you technically received an RFE after the interview so getting an RFE delays the process. I am not sure if you knew about this but medical exams are valid for only one year and you knew that by the time you had the interview, the exam was expired. SO what you could have done was to re-take the exam. Now you just have to wait but if you want you can go to your congressman, fill out a privacy release form and have them inquire about your I-485. Good luck

I have the same situation. My interview was September 19. But the officer gave me the letter after I finish my interview. I sent it to them September 26 and I don't know how long I need to wait to get the final decision.
