Hi everyone ! My parents PD is October 2017. My mom's EAD got approved end Dec but my dad is still waiting for any news/change. Both their cases start with MSC. what does that indicate ? Also my mom's case status updates online but my dad's case status still says "Fingerprint fee was received" etc. my lawyer put in a SR to inquire about dad's case and was told tha bcos dad submitted biometrics a week in advance of his appointment date, case status don't update online but case processing would proceed normally. Lawyer was also told his case is within normal processing time. What does MSC mean ? What are similar acronyms ? Did anyone else submit biometrics early and receive online case updates ? Is there a USCIS case tracker that automatically sends updates ?

I'm not sure what MSC means or what other letters are used. It seems most of us with family-based green card adjustments have an MSC number.

Hubby did biometrics early (see my signature). His EAD/AP has been approved and mailed according to the online case tracker (those statuses say approved), but we haven't received it yet. The status for the I-485 still says "Fingerprint fee was received."

Hubby has an account on the uscis.gov website. Once you've made an account, you can save your receipt numbers and select options to have it send you texts and/or emails when it updates. There also a case tracker app that you can download and will notify you when there are changes online.

MSC is a National Benefits Center in Missouri where most of the applications go to in terms of the EAD/AP. I believe the Field Office which is the office near the city you applied from, gets the forms for your I-485.

        Forms received 6/4
        Received texts/e-mails 6/6

        SR 9/2
        Contacted Congressman 10/1
        Called the Congressman's office 10/10
        Interview letter 10/10

Mind blown. I knew the app went to National Benefits Center. I knew the abbreviation was MSC. Never connected the dots.

You learn new things every day. NBC/MSC is the biggest one I believe but I know there is a TSC which is located in Texas. Hope this helps.

Ohhh so that's what it means - Missouri Service Center (MSC). That's why the NOA says Lee’s Summit, Missouri lol

                • We received EAD combo card in the mail yesterday!! So, we're waiting for a week to see if the SS card comes in the mail, if not, we will go to the SSA office to inquire/apply. We did check on the I765 form for the SSN to be applied for along with the EAD. Anyone do the same and receive their SSN yet?

Have you tried to apply for your SSN through SSA?

                              • Day 106

So... I called today to try and get an update on what is going on with my EAD.

Apparently it still hasn’t been assigned to anyone - even though I was told last week that it was with an adjudicator (not sure if they’re the same thing).

I’m on day 106. A week ago my status changed to ‘Ready to be scheduled for an interview’ but apart from that I’ve heard nothing.

I’ve already contacted my congressman who has basically told me to wait patiently.

                                Any advice anyone?
