If you don't mind me asking, what was the RFE for? I received a RFE , and they received my response May 1st.. so far that's it

They wanted this years 2017/2018 1040/w2/1099 etc. Also the most recent 6 months of pay stubs. We'd sent them for the 6 months running up to our filing date but I guess as it had been so long since then that they wanted more current ones.

        • RFE question

Mellymoo I forgot to ask you a few things about your RFE,did USCIS mail or email you a letter to let you know they received your paperwork? If so,how many days did they take to notify you? After they got it how long it took them to make a decision? My attorney supposedly mailed it a week ago,but I haven?t gotten any notification whatsoever, thank you for all your input on my questions,it really hope it helps others as well

They updated my file online. It was a few days after they received it and it just said that they had received my response and would continue working on my case. I think that was April 19th. Then may 8th i got notification that they had approved my EAD. This was via text and email telling me to check my account. My EAD arrived on May 15th.

            • EAD update

I called USCIS earlier last week and I scheduled an info pass appointment at my local office on Thursday morning. They gave me no updates so I filed a service request on I-765. Two days later I got an email saying that my EAD card is being produced! Funny is that yesterday I got another email saying there was nothing to update on the service request for my case for I-765 and that last time my I-765 was worked on was early April. So, who figures, but I am just happy my EAD is coming soon!

Hi ! Happy for the progress on your case. May I ask which app are you referring to ? What is your underlying petition for adjustment of status - family based/employment based etc ?

                    • Hey, guys! My PD is 10/16. I got my EAD/AP card at the beginning of January and now waiting for the interview notice.
The only update I have for now is the email from USCIS saying:
"We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time. We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on April 25, 2018."
Looks like someone at list looked at it

                      • Employment based green card interview NJ - Approved

Hi guys wanted to share our experience.
PD: Oct 10 after RFIE, before Aug 30.

First at the ground floor you walk through the standard gated security. Most metals, shoes, jacket, phone and watch off into the tray. With green lights head to the 14th floor and show your ID and Interview letter. You will be told the window# to go to. Here submit the letter and wait to be called upon. This could be a while (1.5 hrs in our case) as they pull out the file and appoint an officer who goes through it before calling you into his office. He will walk you to his office. First thing would be taking the oath. Next was ID and current H1b approval notice. Rest the below was asked

Signing the waiver for no lawyer present.

                        Last entry to USA.

Entered into USA for F1 on mm/yy - he stated I confirmed. When did you finish MBA? I stated

After that your status was Opt to H1 from yy to yy - I confirmed and added the missing years.

                        State your employers name

Questions on employers revenue. -- That was it on employment.

Where did you meet your wife?

                        How long you dated?

                        Have you met her family?

                        Where did you meet ?

Where did you got married ?

                        Please show if any pics

Asked identity and relationships of few from the pics and location for some of the pics.

--- That was it. Rest were standard i485 questions on criminality, etc.

                        Took pic and finger scan.

                        Then interviewed my wife

When did you last travel to USA

                        Date of Birth

                        Where were you born

Where do you live at present

Std questions from i485 criminality, etc.

--That was it. Took pic and finger print( my wife asks ?Do I look OK?) Officer smiled and quickly went straight faced almost blushed at the question. My wife 🙄.

Then the officer just concluded by saying ?Am approving your application. If I had any doubts or needed any more information would have put it for further review. I'll post your update today or tomorrow. Pls expect the card within 8-10 days?.

Pls note I have mentioned all as questions as a list for you to be aware. But during interview it was a fluid conversation where quite of the answers were given by the officer himself. Seemingly trying to just confirm.

The amount of anxiety that goes into this ordeal can only be understood for who goes through it. This forum has helped to qualm quite a lot of it by sharing and preparing each other. This is my way of giving back. Thanks and good luck.

PS : While typing this (same evening) just got the update New card is being produced.

I hear you,it?s a relief to have an EAD card, but people like me have to take the risk by driving without a drivers license everyday ,it has been more than a week that my attorney supposedly sent that translated birth certificate that was missing, but I haven?t had any notification from USCIS yet,I just hope it doesn?t take longer than 3 months or more, because here in TN cops are pulling you over just because you look Hispanic and they turn you to ICE no matter if you?re already in the process of adjusting status,in January starts the law SB something like TX and AZ,it?s going get a lot worse papers or no papers, politians already saw that the most racist one wins,so everybody is betting on that strategy
