I haven't changed my surname on my passport.

My EAD will have my married name. I want to travel
as soon as I get my AP.

Do you think having a different name on my passport and AP will be a problem?

it should not be a problem here but can be a problem overseas especially at transit points. If its not a problem getting a new passport, then by all means do that.

Call the customer service line for CBP and double check. How long until your passport expires? You might be able to bring a copied of your marriage certificate to show you are the same person. Its not like changing the name on your passport is a quick process. Especially if you have to do it outside of issued country.

I don't think it is an issue. My situation is exactly the same with you, and I just came back from another country earlier this month without any issue. Make sure you bring your marriage license with you and be prepared to explain the situation to the immigration officer. I think this is a very common issue, and the the officers are very used to this type of situation.
