  • Extended Birth Certificate

So I had my interview today and everything was going well until the IO asked for the extended Polish birth certificate (odpis zupelny). Now I called my parents and they are certain that they do not have it. I have my advance parole card so my question is, if the need comes that I will have to fly to Poland, will I be able to? What do I need to do? I have been shedding tears of frustration because I called the Polish Consulate in Chicago, New York and Washington DC and frankly, they were all useless and rude.

I need some much needed advice.

I have contacted my god father to see if he can get it for me but I doubt it.
    Forms sent 6/2
    Forms received 6/4
    Received texts/e-mails 6/6
    PD 6/5 & 6/6
NOA between 6/8 and 6/12 (I was out of town)
Biometrics letter in mail 6/17 w/ 6/28 date
    SR 9/2
    Contacted Congressman 10/1
    Called the Congressman's office 10/10
    Interview letter 10/10
    Approval Letters for I-765 and I-131 10/16
    Received EAD/AP card 10/17
    Interview 11/8 RFE after
    New Card Being Produced 11/16
    Conditional GC received 11/24

Don't know if something like this might be an option. But I don't know about this.

Thank you so much. I stumbled upon that same website and I sent out an e-mail. I have some options so I will need to choose one that gets me the birth certificate fastest.

Talk to parents or relatives give them a letter from you that is notarized in english/polish and then they should go to the archives where your birth was recorded. send it to you via UPS. I am pretty sure they do it the same way as in germany. Your parents will definitely get it for you no need to fly there.

Yes your relatives can get it for you. If not call the local office in advance tell them your situation and have a relative come in with notarized letter maybe also passport copy. Last resort you fly there get it. You will have no problem coming back with AP

I hope so. I am just unsure of how the timeline will be affected. If I can get it to them before Thanksgiving, will they immediately go back to working on my case or will it be sitting there. I will just have to be patient. Thank you mustang.
