I-485 not even touched until I-140 apporved?

Is 485 not even touched until 140 is approved? Or can some work be done by the officer on it behind the scenes, and then movement occurs shortly after I140 approval?

IMHO even though the i-140 is the basis of i-485. If is prima facie approvable it is not touched until they are ready to rule on i-485 if filed concurrently.

Interesting. That seems to not be the case Because I filed 7/31, I-140 was approved Sept 25, and I’m waiting for movement on 485. Just wondering how much longer it may be before my case is transferred for interview?

FYI my lawyer confirmed that USCIS doesn’t even look at the 485 until the 140 is approved.
