  • Still waiting

So we applied for my wife's green card back in 8/2015. Attended the interview on 01/7/2016. Chicago Filer. We are still waiting for a response on her adjustment of status. We have submitted several inquiries, contacted the congressman's office. Only to be told they're "sorry for taking so long but they are working as quickly as they can to process our case". I find that hard to believe! Our processing date has come and gone. We have never received an RFE. Every time we've called, we asked if there was any information we can provide that might help speed up there decision, but apparently they have everything they need, but they're sitting on there hands. Have to love how they like delaying peoples lives from moving onward.

My wife is scared to travel home to see her sick mother, because she's afraid they may deny her re-entry even though she has an AP card. (We've traveled on it before for vacation, but she's concerned about going home). I'm really getting frustrated and curious why they chose our case to hold up. My wife has a few friends who have applied well after we did who have already received there green card. Even one of her friends had a very sticky case and they were approved within 3 months, but yet we have a legitimate relationship and provided every document they would ever need to make a decision and apparently they're still thinking if they should approve or not 2 YEARS LATER! So fed up with this process. Tired of getting the same reply every time we inquire. The fact that they don't allow you to speak to anyone of a higher level, aside from the people they employ to read the same information we do from the website, is mind boggling.

We hired an attorney who has done the same thing we have (Submitted multiple inquiries, contacted congressman) so this is just becoming a waste of money and time. Apparently we need to go to court for Mandamus and force them to do there jobs.

so sad to read this, two years is such long time specially in this situation when everything is so nerve wrecking. Just remember you guys are not alone in this process we are all in the same boat trying to get rescued, but I really hope you guys are next.

Thanks Viri! Its been stressful, my wife is so upset. She feels stuck and that her life is at a standstill waiting on an individual to decide her fate. All we are expecting is an approval or denial. At least something to allow us to decide what's next for us. 2 years is too long to make a decision. There is absolutely no reason to take this long. Hopefully we, and anyone else still waiting finally get the answers they've been waiting for!
