Place of Birth mismatch between Passport and Birth Certificate

I am in process of filing I-485 and found out that place of Birth is mentioned incorrectly in my passport. It is correct in my Birth certificate
All other details like Name, DOB match correctly in all document

Tried to get passport changed but Indian consulate is not very helpful, Asked me to go to India and re-apply for new passport after affidavit

I have seen many post of people with same issue but no one updates the outcome if there was an RFE or Denial due to this reason.

Is it a big risk to apply with this mismatch? Should I apply and in the meantime get the passport corrected, worst case by the time I get RFE I will have my passport changed.

Please suggest if you have experience about similar issue.

City name mismatch between Passport and birth ceritificate

I too have issue. In my birth certificate birth place is hospital name and on my passport its village name. Is there any problem with this ? Should I change my birth place from my passport to same as in birth certificate ?
