I'm a petitioner filing for my wife to become a permanent resident with her green card. She is currently a F1 student. We also have a lawyer involved that is in aid of filling out most of our forms. Regarding the Form I-864, I barely reach the poverty guideline on my own, however, her aunt and uncle could co-sponsor and support us to meet that guideline easily.
The tricky situation is when she applied for her visa in the USA, she claimed she had no family here. If her side here claims to be a co sponsor should any problems arise such as deporation? I have not brought this up to my lawyer, should I let him know about this family situation or find a way to rise my income.
