Same people are working in the Immigration Office 5 years ago and now.
I went through naturalization, interview is only about you criminal past and civic exam. There is not much docs to file. Basically if you get to interview it just matter of time to get naturalized.

      Not political? Ok lol

Before this administration AOS through H1's weren't getting or rarely were getting interviews it was mainly through adjustment. This administration implemented that among other changes that overwhelm the local office. It was this administration's position on immigration reform that also cause the mass filing of N400's...I assisted with 3 Naturalizations and all were sworn in by the 12 month marker and some were cases where people have had LPR status for over 15-20yrs. Can't blame Harvey either. USCIS was up and running not too long after the storm.....trust me I've got friends that are DHS and some of that protocol is what i went through at my job. While on the surface to you it looked like a simple criminal background check and civics exam it's actually more than that. They've got to order your A-file and make sure there wasn't anything missed. Believe it or not the governments not perfect and somethings do fall between the cracks so they've got to scrutinize your A-file all the way from the first petition ever filed on your behalf down the submission of your N400.

        EAD Expiring

Guys I lost all my paperwork from harvey including my filed paperwork to immigration. My question is, what do i need to do to file my EAD renewal and also do I have to pay my fee of 485 again? also theres no copy of my docs because I did a self serve on the paperwork and filed it my self.

Have already filed your 485? If so you'll need the receipt number and if you filed concurrently you wont have to pay the fee's again unless the application is abandoned or denied. I'm not 100% sure but you may be able to file a FOIA to get a copy of what you submitted.

            Hello:
The A number and receipt number for EAD should be on your original EAD card. I believe the receipt number is there too. Get a new updated EAD renewal form online USCIS. Read the EAD renewal instruction sheet which will ask for 2 passport pics, all copies of receipts ( in your case let them know yours were misplaced), copies of existing EAD card. If you are adjusting status due to marriage you would enter the appropriate category. For marriage I entered C9. Once the renewal is connected to initial application with the the A-number and I485 it is free.

            All the best.

Does my category of C9 allow me to work while my EAD is renewing? If I might add I do have a i485 pending through my wife and my current class type is c9 as well. So then my renewal should be free.

If you file your renewal for your EAD prior to it expiring, you are eligible for a 180 day extention under the classification of c(9). But you have to renew before your card expires.

                  Any Interview experiences?

Houston Filers, any body has recently interview, please share you experience, parking, time of arrival, when they called, what they asked...?
Our interview is soon and i am freaking out.

Left to print a few copies of docs. I am tired to look for evidence of our relationship and cohabiting. I think i am driving myself crazy wit all that.
When i was getting my GC long time ago back in my home country at US consulate, i didn't have any evidence, just our married certificate, we were married for 5 years and birth certificate of a common child (2y.o.), we were expats moving back to US. All process was friendly conversation with consulate employers. They print for us needed forms, and what docs need to be submitted... when we gave them all needed consul talk to me, ask a few questions (how long we were married, what my plans in US and wished me good luck, that all.
Now, ... it is completely different story with all that submission, letters, status, waiting, waiting..., documentation, evidences and interview like interrogation...

I had interview few weeks back, i assume you will go to gears rd office. But my interview was based an employment.
Interview took around 50 min. IO was really friendly lady with supervisor in the same room(also really nice guy). Asked few questions about my job and took long time for YES/NO questions. GC was approved on spot, week later i received GC on hand.
I suggest you to arrive at least 30 min as i were struggled to find parking spot. We waited in main room around 20-30 minutes beyond my appointment time, then my name was called.
I notice that most of the people were happy coming out from interview, but i saw few of them were cried (not sure why)
I made lot of papers, copy of it and nothing were asked to show, except EAD and AP.
Overall i have really positive feedback about interview and staff....

Thank you for responding. Yes and Yes. My category is C9 also and I have been working with my first EAD-I765 since received October 4, 2017. I do not believe you will have any issues just as long as you submit all the required documents with the application. An EAD renewal automatically extends the life of your existing EAD by 180 days.

I want to know what I need to take along with me for renewal of my drivers liscense pending when I receive my new EAD. And do I have to wait till the old one expires before I go for the renewal? Thanks

The DPS will only renew for as long as your EAD is valid. So no point going in to renew it now because the renewal would expire on the same date it expires now. YOu will need to bring in your new EAD card, or the receipt notice stating you have an extention if your a c9 classification, your current DL, your passport and I THINK that is it...

                              GOOD LUCK!
