I have started the adjustment of status process for my spouse on today. Sent forms via USPS express mail to Chicago lockbox. My husband I-94 expired 7/19/2018 so we are nervous and hoping all will go well.

    • Get ready for the long wait. Be sure you file I-765 and I-131 for an with and advance parole card. Also when you get your EAD card get him a DL so he doesn't have to risk losing his passport.

That is fine. He has a legal right to be here since he is married to you and the application process has begun. You will receive the receipts soon, and then his right to work/travel within 6 months or so.

        • EAD renewal....

The wait in Houston TX is terribly alarming.
Status of my application changed to ready to be scheduled for an interview in February. Up till now, nothing.
i got my EAD in March, it expires next year March.
Please what is the best time to apply for an EAD renewal because this wait for interview seems too long.

          My PD is Dec 2017

Calculate 180 days from the date of your EAD expires. So that means you can apply around October 2018 or at least by September 30. Just make sure you submit the required documents no more than 180 days BEFORE your EAD expires.

            All the best.

              Thanks for your answer.

I also saw something about EAD automatic extensions for up to 180 days. Does it mean the EAD is automatically extended for 180 days from when they receive the application or 180 days from when the EAD expires ?

180 days the date of the expiring or expired EAD. This is extension is applicable to (C9) category as well as other AOS categories/ applications.

Our PD is March 2017. OUr status changed in May 2017 to "we are scheduling your interview" still nothing...

We applied 3 months prior to his expiration.. and he still got the auto renewal. But I noticed the wait went from 4.5 to 5 months recently for EAD

Received a status update today... on the uscis.gov it now shows ready to schedule interview. however, dhs website has said this since May 2017. So annoyed.
