So today I went online for my change of address, my new lease starts tomorrow.
I'm moving from the DC area to Lynchburg, VA. About 3hrs away.

2 hrs after putting in my change of address, i get an update: On August 27, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

Pretty excited but also worried. My last date at my old address is 9/4. Thats when we actually move. I'm hoping the letter comes in before that, at my old address.
I've setup mail forwarding already with usps but i think they do not forward official goverment mail like uscis/irs.

Another worry is that my wife will be starting a new job and has mandatory training in Richmond for a few weeks.

Hoping this all works out and times well. Would hate myself if i had to reschedule and get back in line.

/edit I just looked up my new field office if they were to schedule it there, which i highly doubt. It would be in Norfolk, VA. Thats almost a 4hr drive vs 3 with my current/old field office in the DC area lol.

I've followed this thread for the last year and wanted to update everyone on my status.

This was an marriage based AOS to a USC.
I hired a lawyer to help with all the documents
We submitted the application in December and the priority date was December 26th, 2017.

We completely front-loaded the application. I have been in the US for 10 years (F1--H1B x 2). I included all former immigration documents, photos, trip itineraries and tickets, lease information, affadavits from family and friends, joint accounts, marriage certificate, employment verification. This was ALL in the application that was submitted in 2017 last year.

Here is my timeline:

PD: December 26th, 2017
Biometrics: January 18th, 2018
Nothing for months
EAD/AP Approval: July 3rd, 2018
EAD/AP Card in mail: July 9th, 2018
Interview notice: August 1st, 2018
Interview appt: Sept 7th, 2018
Approved on the spot. Online status changed to "card is being produced".

The interview was in Boston, MA and was very smooth. Incredibly nice IO who had us sworn in, asked how we met, chatted a bit while he went through the application. He didn't ask for any supporting evidence since everything was already in the application. I did however, prepare a binder of additional documents in case it was asked for.

I highly recommend that everyone front-load the application so that there are no gaps or nothing is missing!!! Even if it takes you an extra month to do this, just do it!! It will save you time in the long run. It took me from Oct-2017 to Dec 2017 to prepare the application because we wanted it to be as thorough as possible.

Checked my status online and finally, as of December 20th, 2018 my interview has been scheduled. I will be receiving the date soon in the mail. It took exactly 1 year from the filing date to receive an interview. See my timeline below.

I just did my interview today. It took 45 minutes. I was kind nervous and I got all red.
My wife said the wrong date of our weeding and I got nervous. The IO looked at her like ? you dumb ? lol and said that was normal and she said she doesn?t have a good memory and I confirmed. Lol
He said we will hear the notice really soon in our mail so I?m nervous.
I never had an interview like that before so I feel so nervous about it.
I think we went okay and we took also a lot of evidences.
Anyways, I?ll post the news on the next couple weeks.
