That FAQ pertains to removal of conditions. A divorced conditional permanent resident can apply to remove their conditions after divorce. As I understand it, this thread is about adjustment of status, OP is not yet a permanent resident

Bree, other option that you might have is if he was abusive towards you. There is a visa called VAWA. I know people who got their GC that way. Consult with an attorney.

Why do all people always give this advice , this is for domestic violence/ battery. Where do you have to proof that with arrest records and hospital records . Not when the marriage goes down south

Emotional/Mental abuse also counts for VAWA. Its not just physical.

Sure ,but does "didn't work out" sound like domestic violence ( physical or mental), no it doesn't . Threats of violence, forceful detention, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation, rape, molestation, incest (if the victim is a minor) and forced prostitution. These are some that would justify non physical VAWA.

Unfortunately the marriage has to be valid on the day of adjudication of your marriage based petition.

It definitely won’t work that way my advice to you consult with an EXPERT attorney
