You're the adjustment of status applicant who furnished incomplete employment history on Form I-485, right?

Hiring an attorney would not have helped you one bit in avoiding that

You would have furnished the attorney incomplete information, and the attorney (really their paralegals) in turn would have completed the forms using the information you furnished

Attorneys are useful in guiding you around the contours of the law. They are not mag-icians who can read your mind and then fix your paperwork

I saw in another post of you thinking about withdrawing your application to submit another one. DO NOT WITHDRAW YOUR APPLICATION, I REPEAT DO NOT WITHDRAW YOUR APPLICATION. You already overstayed your b visa and if your withdraw they going to send you a letter for removal proceedings because you dont have any status. try and have all the supporting documents and take them with you at the interview.
