Good luck! The IO who interviewed us was a very nice and friendly lady. She only asked a few questions.
I was so nervous days before the interview, but when we were there, all of it worn off.

At the end of interview, she asked: "do you want to hear the good news?"
She told us she's gonna approve the application and we will receive a welcome package and the card in 2-3weeks because it's holiday season.

Then she also told us that she studied Psychology and she can see through body language and the way you speak if someone is telling a lie.

I will never ever forget her name.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the officer's last name?

I had my interview by a nice lady too over a month ago, but I'm still waiting for a decision from her!

Congrats!! We're almost in the exact same situation—I'm just a few miles north, in NYC

We attended our interview in Manhattan on 12/5. The officer was really cool and nice, and by the end she informed us that she had plans to approve the case pending a routine background check. On Monday I received in the mail the I-797 notices of approval for the I-485 and I-130 forms, with a date of approval of 12/12/2017 (priority date: 12/21/2016). Now it's just a matter of waiting for the actual card in the mail. As it has happened with others, the online status has not changed.

Cheers to everyone, and happy holidays!

One year is the benchmark duration for adjustment of status applications. Some applicants, if not many applicants have been waiting longer lately

However, you don't have to worry. If your application is properly filed while you are in H-1B status, you can continue to adjust your status even if your H-1B status lapses. If your partner is a US citizen, you can even apply for adjustment of status after your H-1B status lapses
