  • I-485 approved but I-130 approval letter says I have to wait for a visa??

    Help!
Last Thursday I had my interview and got approved on the spot. She said I will get my green card for 10 years and that I could apply for US Citizenship in 3 years. Today I got the approval letter for I-485 and it says that I might be required to report for biometrics before I receive my green card. That I will receive the green card or the biometric appointment letter in few days.
I also got the approval letter of the I-130. It says this “ the above petition has been approved. The petition indicates that the beneficiary is in the United States and wishes to adjust status to that of a lawful permanent resident. A visa is not yet available for the beneficiary. Once a visa becomes available, the beneficiary may be eligible to adjust status under section 245-I of the immigration and nationality act.”

What does that mean? Am I getting my green card or do I have to wait for a visa?
I was in a previous case with my dad but that case never got approved because my dad is still waiting for a visa.
This new case is through my husband. We’ve been married for 8 years.

    I don’t know what the i130 letter means 😞

It sounds like they made a mistake in issuing that letter, conflating both immigrant petitions filed on your behalf

I don't think it matters, since they have approved your I-485

USCIS is not above making mistakes. In fact they do make a lot of them. It seems they are confusing your two petitions.
