  • I-485, I-693 question

I am a U.S Citizen. My husband came to the US from Cuba as an Asylee. He arrived Sept 2016, got a physical done in Oct 2016 in Houston. They gave him his lab work and vaccination record. We met in Dec 2016, and married July 2017. We are currently expecting our first child Jan 17th. His timeline is the following:
    Sept 2017: Submitted I-485
    Nov 2017: Biometric Appointment
Dec: Received Interview appt for Jan 10, 2018.

My question is since he is here as an Asylee and married to a US Citizen does he need a Medical Exam? I read that I can fill out I-602 ( Medical Waiver ) We just want to make sure we have everything set and ready for his appointment in 3 weeks.
    Thanks in advance!!!

As far as I know, everyone who files for I-485 needs to have a medical exam done by a uscis approved doctor. These medical exams are valid for 1year.

your medical exam is valid till March 2018, so if before that date everything is processed, approved theyll use that, if your process will exceed till after March 2018, you will probably have to have another medical exam done.
Again, this is as far as I know, so I could absolutely be wrong.
I would call USCIS if I were you and ask the same question.
