  • Confused please help

    Dear All:
Please help me with a couple questions. My wife (USC) and I filed I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765. Our documents were received on October 11th, Biometrics notification received on 24th and Biometrics taken on 8th November. We recently received a notification scheduling an interview for I-485 on January 29th. My questions are as follows.

    1. Is it normal to receive interview appointment without EAD/AP approval?
    2. Apart from the letter we did not receive any other intimation via text or email. Is this right? Also although I received the interview appointment notice, the case status for all my applications on USCIS website has not changed.

Please let me know if someone has similar experiences and what should I expect going forward. I thank you all for your help. Have a wonderful day.

    Best regards,
    Sagar.

I received my interview notice before I got my EAD/AP. Also, did you fill out the G-1145 e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance form? That enables USCIS to send you e-mail and text notifications. Otherwise, the website is not very helpful in terms of notifying you. My statuses stayed the same as in Fingerprint fee received and case was received even after the interview and EAD was received. Only after I got my GC, did the statuses change.

Thank you for sharing your information it is very reassuring that such incidences have occurred before. I have filled the G-1145 with my application and that is why I was concerned that I did not receive any update about my application via email or text but directly received the appointment letter.

        Thanks and best regards
        Sagar.
