A lil background info, I?m a USC and he?s Jamaican. we got married 11/17/2017, PD date is 01/19/2018, biometrics was 02/20/2018 and we got notice for scheduled interview 03/24/2018 for 04/24/2018. Prior he did not receive an EAD OR AP. our process went really quick our officer told us that he is going to recommend our case for aproval. We are just waiting for GC now. My lawyer advice us to make a copy of EVERYTHING and put in order with the originals. She also made us make a table of contents for every pile just so it can be very organize for the officer and give them little work as possible. Our officer was pretty nice and asked us basic questions about our wedding, why our family didn?t attend and what each other likes to eat. And also why it was a short engagement, and what we planned on doing for the summer in which I told him we wanted to go to Haiti if everything went right, he did inform us that we?ll receive the GC in about a month and that we were going to get approved. He didn?t ask us for no additional documents I guess because he figure there isn?t really much we could?ve done in just 3 months without jobs. We did managed to get a joint bank account, a notorized letter from my in laws saying that?s we reside with them, an insurance policy with my hubby as a beneficiary, same phone acct letter and a lot of junk letters putting us at our address just Incase. Everything had it?s own copies and we had three piles a HIM, a ME, and a US. The officer did ask for some pictures in which we gave him a pile with dates and descriptions on the back he picked a couple that he wanted to keep and that was it. I do suggest you and spouse go over some questions and be on the same page just in case you have one of those separation interview which we were very grateful we didn?t have but if we did we would?ve been great because we were prepared for the worst of the worst. but good luck and DONT BE NERVOUS YOU GUYS GOT THIS. KEEP PRAYING AND I WILL KEEP PRAYING FOR THIS FORM AS WELL GOOD LUCK GUYS
Thanks for sharing! Let us know when u receive the card please!😇

    • FO is San Francisco. Wife is Singaporean, I'm a USC. Married last year while she was on F1 OPT. She left upon her OPT completion in September and re-entered the US with ESTA in December.
      Filed on Jan 19.
      Feb 9 biometrics.
      Interview date was 4/25.

Went yesterday, got sworn in and we couldn't contain ourselves and asked why was the interview scheduled so quick, as we were braced for the long haul. She said they're doing them a lot quicker these days and begun going through the application. Asked all of the questions about terrorism, crimes etc etc. Then she asked for financial documents.

      We provided:
      1. joint ownership via deed of the house,

      2. most recent joint bank account statement. We had submitted the 1st joint statement since 2014 and the last in Jan when we filed.

      3. 3 AmEx card statements where wife is the primary and I'm the authorized user. We had submitted 1st statement of each card after I was added and the January one when we filed. AmEx is great for this because unlike other cards they will separate the purchases in the statement by card user and give the name of the user in the statement as well.

      4. car insurance statement from 2015 with both our names and cars as well as the most recent one.

She then asked about how we met. I told the story. My wife supplemented it. She asked about wedding date. We told her that we've had 2 ceremonies, one in Monterrey on the beach which was the legal one, and the customary ceremony in Shanghai with her family. She asked about trips together, we pointed to the photo album (which we already submitted with the application) with pics all over the US, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, Canada, Mexico and China. We wanted to give her a few more from our recent trip to DC, she said not necessary as she has plenty already. She asked whether I had met her parents before the wedding, told her that I've first met them in 2013 at their home in Shanghai then again in 2015 when they came to visit us in the US.
She said she had plenty of information, she would approve the i-130 then gave us the paper with the "under review" checked.

We thanked her and she showed us out.

Nothing happened since then... we kept hoping and checking the case status page in the https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ as well as the regular case status webpage https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
And then there was this morning...
I had registered at the DHS site and this morning I saw an email had come in at 3 AM noting a change. I quickly logged in to see "card being produced" WHOHOOOOOO Woke up my wife to tell her the good news!
Also, later on today, I checked the Android app to see that both i-130 and i-485 had changed status to "approved"
A bit strange that one system says card produced, and the other says approved... but who cares! All good!

        • For those who have gotten interviews etc, did this account (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov) ever reflect those changes? My i130 and my i765 just say "we received your case" and my i485 timeline shows that it was received, that they sent the RFIE, show my biometrics, and show that they received the response to the RFIE.

After what day can I request a SR or if I make an appointment at my local office, what am I supposed to ask? Just "why is this taking so long?" lol

That new website had the same for me but the fingerprint fees and and date received were all wrong. The older website still shows validation error and I'm unable to access my 1485 status that's why I called USCIS customer care...only to find out that it was updating but I've never received any textx/emails because the website is down.
You can start raise an SR for i765 if you're at the 90 mark or close to it. I raised an SR at day 80 so by the time they respond it would've been over 90 days LOL.

Usually, after u have been interveiwed raising SR's or Infopasses don't work. Most lawyers advise to just wait because there isn't much u can do at this time. Be patient, you'll get it dear.

                  • EAD baby!

FO is San Jose, California. I'm doing a i485 EAD GC married to a USC.

                    1/5/18: PD date

1/29/18 Biometrics: I just walked into the office the day i got the letter and I did not wait for my appointment. They gave me the next available timeslot. I recommend everyone do the same.

2/7/18 RFE i485: I turned this around overnight and sent back everything as fast as i could. I recommend everyone do the same if you are in the same position.

4/6/18: I received an official offer letter for a full time corporate job. It was a bit of a gamble I took here to interview in parallel but not ask for sponsorship since i knew the i485 was already in process.

4/9/18: Opened a Service Request to escalate my i485 EAD since I had the offer letter in-hand.

4/10/18: Sent a note to our Representative and Ombudsman to escalate the case. I wrote a compelling letter explaining financial hardship and that I had a full time job offer letter in-hand. At this point, the only missing piece was the EAD.

4/11/18: Service Request mailed us a letter to fax in evidence and a compelling explanation to expedite our case. I sent in the offer letter and the same letter I sent to Ombudsman and our Representative.

4/19/18: I had an appointment with the local USCIS office to ask someone the status of my application and found out that my case was sent to an adjudicator.

4/24/18: got the notice "Card is being Produced".

                    4/26/18: "Card is mailed"

                      • Service Request or InfoPass Appointment?

                        Hi all,

It's been day 87 from my PD and I've made the decision to ask for my EAD (my current one expires on 5/31 and my work is getting very nervous). What's the best option for me? Should I do SR or make an appointment with my local field office? Those who have expedited their EAD, what documents did you have to send (or is this electronically for once?)?

                        Thanks!

Infopasses are more effective. Since your case is serious (job loss on the line) I think it's best to do infopass
