That was a fast interview. You have several options here, and I would do them all.

          1. Call USCIS and tell them that your spouse was interviewed already. Tell them to approve the I-765/I-131. They're supposed to.
          2. Reach out to your Senator (not congressperson) and tell them that you had the interview on May 23rd and the file was held for review. the I-765/I-131 has not been approved. Ask the senator to shake the tree an inquire on the I-765/I-131 and on the status of the I-130/I-485.

            Hi guys,

I have a quick question about the interview. So I am planning on bringing an EXACT copy of my original filing package (I485, I130, I765, etc) and an exact copy of the RFIE response I had sent to them. In additional, I will bring all the documents outlined in the 797C interview notice. I know that the Officer will definitely look at the ORIGINAL passports, birth certificates, marriage certificate but will they (yet again) need a copy of those? Technically, they already have copies of everything (multiple copies to be exact). I am just afraid that by NOT bringing a copy, they will want to keep my originals.

Well I had the same question as u and was advised to take copies along with originals.
However, the officer didn't want the original (he said he already had the copies of civil documents when I mailed the package). I guess he trusted me? IDK. So it was a waste of ink and paper for me but u just never know so just follow the instructions 😒

Ideally, I would recommend having two exact copies of your AOS applications + bona fide marriage evidence + civil documents; just in case you get separated. They do have copy machines in the building, though. You probably do not want to bother the ISO with that. If you do not want to leave anything to chance, then bring extra copies for them to keep if needed.

                • How long after approval to get EAD card?

Got two letters in the mail today, my EAD and AP has been approved! Today is day 155 for me.

Now question, how long does it take for the card to be mailed to me? I haven't seen any updates online about a card being produced or even that it's been approved. How long should I expect it to take? A week or two?

Congratulations!!! Know that the updates are hit or miss. The ?New Card being produced? update can be seen on both websites - DHS and egov.uscis.gov.

Most importantly, make sure you do not miss the mailing of the card. It?s certified mail. While certified mail requires a Signature, that has not been consistent lately either.

I would run to your post office and sign a form that authorizes the post office to hold any certified mail for you.

                    All the best!

Thank you! Where on the DHS website can you check that? I've only been able to check updates on egov.uscis.gov. Also, sign a form at the post office? Is that necessary? Previously when I've had certified mail that they couldn't deliver cause no one was around to sign for it, I got a notice left on my door to pick it up at the post office and sign for it. Would this be different? I've never heard of having to sign a form to allow them to just hold the mail for me.

Here is link to the dhs website. This is the account you would also use to renew your 10-year green card or to replace a green card.

If you do not want to leave anything to chance, then follow my advice. Otherwise, trust USPS with your combo card. Up to you...

Thanks for the website! Things were actually updated there, it shows that my card is being produced but it doesn't state that it has been mailed yet. God no, I don't trust them at all. I was just a little puzzled because I've never heard of that before. I'll be heading over to the post office on Monday. Thanks for the help!

There are many levels. The level 3 also reached out to his supervisor (level 4) while we were discussing my case. I just keep getting my call escalated until I get someone who has answers that make sense. Telling me that the Case Inquiry date of May 20th, 2016 is the date of the cases that the Raleigh office is processing, is a giveaway that the officer does not know what he/she is doing. So I keep escalating after I explain to them that is not what the case inquiry date is.

Either way, they are not immigration officers. They're all at the contact center "out-West". They're not at the NBC.
