1. I'd say so? Has she changed her name on her SSN, too?
2. That should be a "no," because the moment you file for AOS you are allowed to stay in the US (you just cannot work any longer UNLESS you get your new EAD card). Either way though, it doesn't hurt to file rather sooner than later.

I just got my NOA after barely 4 months! How can I check my case status online now??? Any advice?
My received date is January 4. Time has officially started for me 😃
you waited 4 months to receive NOA? sorry if I misunderstood, but is it true? do mind can you share your timeline and center where you filed ? as I am planning to submit my documentation this weekend.
Ok you all,
My PD is 01/04 and I’m still waiting on my Bio letter. Im assuming that I should get it this month because I seen a lot of people getting theirs between 2-4 weeks after PD. Any suggestions or guess when I would get mines?
Would I get an email/text whenever they send me the Bio letter?

I didnt receive any text/email. I got my biometrics letter around 2,5 weeks after my PD
Will a potential government shutdown interfere with our timeline? I was thinking to mail my package next week but I would rather hold on ifUSCIS is shut down (I am afraid my package will get lost). What are your thoughts?

No it will not. I sent my package in yesterday. With the political climate right now I think it's best to send in any applications ASAP because you never know when this current administration will change immigration policies.

Hello guys ! My lawyer sent my petition on junuary 10th and yesterday they cashed my checks ... how long does the fingerprint appointment take ? I’m living in Las Vegas Nevada right now.
And my second question guys is do you think that ICE can look for us now that they have all our info? I overstayed my visa .. I am a little worried for all the news. Thank you so much !
If you're adjusting status under immediate relative, that is I-130 u should be exempted from penalization. Only way ICE would take u is if u had violations with the law, whether major minor offences. They don't care. They recently arrested a GC holder who's a doctor in the US for 40 years for minor offences he committed as a teenager. I think you're only 100% safe from ICE when you get your citizenship/ naturalization. Trump admin is cold.
