I entered the US in April 17 on a B2 visa to do some hiking in California. A number of months later I met someone in Georgia whilst visiting friends (pure serendipity at work!) and we fell in love and married in September 17. We submitted all the necessary paperwork for AOS, Travel, work permits, etc. in October, before the B2 expired.
I have received my EAD and Advance Parole. My I-485 (C09) is still pending and it will no doubt be a few months away before the interview takes place.
I engaged the services of a removals firm in the UK to go to my old residence, collect my clothes, furniture, etc. and ship them to me here in the US. They have collected and packed them and they are now in a shipping container in storage awaiting all the final documentation from me.
I have sent the completed form 3299 along with all the other declarations including a scan of my EAD, driver's licence and Social Security card to the removals firm.
They say in order to obtain free entry of unaccompanied articles the EAD, driver's licence and social security card is not enough to obtain free entry but cannot then tell me what I need to provide!!
Is anyone in the same position (or has been in the same position) and can shed some light as to how you got your personal effects shipped over whilst PRUCOL?
