Can Wife Quit Job While Adjustment of Status Pending?

Wife came to USA on employment visa 2 years ago - we got married a year later - and she is still waiting on a green card. I heard that she can quit her job while her i-485 is pending - is this really true? She's sick of it and we have sufficient financial resources for her to stay at home and take care of our child instead.

Assuming she is applying for adjustment of status on the basis of her marriage to her US citizen spouse, then yes, it is fine for her to quit her job. If her application for adjustment of status is on the basis of a different situation (eg employer sponsored), give us the details, because the consequence may be different
