    Hi,

I'm on a F-1 visa and married an American citizen. I'm currently applying for the green card now. The forms I'm filing are I-130, I-130A, I-131, I-485, I-765, I-864, and I-693. Based on my research, I need to pay $535 for I-130, $1140 for I-485, $410 for I-765 and $85 for Biometric Service Fee. Is there anything I'm missing? Also, I'm confused about why I need to file and pay for the I-765. I thought after I got my green card, I should be able to have work authorization. Please help me out. Many thanks.

One check for $535 for I-130. One check for $1225 for I-485. I-765 and I-131 are free for I-485 applicants. The EAD and AP are for you to work and/or travel while your I-485 is pending; after you get your green card, they are useless.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

newacct is right. You only need to pay for i130 which is $535 and i485 & biometric fees which is $1225. If u read the instructions clearly on the forms and also on USCIS website u will see that once u are adjusting status u don't need to pay for i765. Your total is $1760. And u write two separate checks. All the instructions are on the website. Be sure to read up as much as u can before sending in your package.
