Actually I met someone and they told us that they received their GC without an Interview within 5 months. Field Office - Newark, NJ

A friend of mine told me the same thing. He's the US citizen and his spouse is from Germany. Upon asking more questions, it became evident that my friend didn't really know the type of visa they had applied for. So yes, if you do K-1, you have an interview in your country. Then, you get here and have 90 days to get married. Then you file for AOS. From what I read on the USCIS page, most couples are not called in for an interview unless you do not get married within those 90 days. Then, you remove conditions like the rest of us and you won't have an interview if you provide solid evidence of bona fide marriage.
