  • I485 ready to be scheduled for an interview

I filed my adjustement of status in Jan 2017 (got sponsored by my mom), did the fingerprint and sent in all the paperwork. The status changed to “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” it’s been that way from May 2017. Got my combo ead and I512 in August. When will I get my interview???

This is just my humble opinion but from what I have read and from personal experience I can tell you that petitions like yours get the interview waived and you just get your permanent green card (10 year card) in the mail. I sponsored my mother in 2005. She got her EAD in record time; around 60 days and she got her green card by mail 6 months after filing for AOS.

Cross your fingers. Who knows? You might be among those cases whose interviews they decide to waive. If you do not come from a country who has a ban or a country that has had issues with the US; and everything else is in order with your application, affidavit of financial support, straightforward and clear background check, then you might get it waived.

    Best of luck!
