Hi everyone, this website has helped me a lot through this process, and my husband and I just got our approval letter for DACA adjustment of status, so I wanted to share to help anyone else out who may need it!
March 7, 2017: Sent paperwork to Chicago
About a week later we received receipts and checks cashed notification by letter in mail. Biometrics were done this week as well.
April 12, 2017: Case ready to be scheduled for an interview.
December 22, 2017: Receive letter scheduling us for an interview in Newark, NJ on January 24, 2018.
January 24, 2018: Our interview was scheduled for 9:15 am, we arrived around 7:45. The guard outside the waiting room told us to wait downstairs in the cafeteria and to come back up around 8:45 am. Went back up at 8:45 and we weren't called in to the interview until about 10:45. The officer was very nice. He told us to place our things down and he would swear us in. All of our things were very organized (all documents in a binder, labeled, highlighted, etc.) so his first question to us was who in the relationship was more meticulous. I said probably me. He flipped threw our financial documents and photos/wedding album and asked if it was okay if he kept a few pages and photos. The questions were simple, such as "What year did you meet?" "When did you start dating?" "Who proposed to who?" "When did you get engaged, married?" "Did she cry when you proposed?" He also held up several of our photos of myself and my husband with other people, and asked what the people's names in the photo were and what their relation was to me/my husband. He asked us how much our rent was each month, what our landlords name was, etc. He didn't ask any crazy questions and really didn't look at many of the things we brought. The interview was quick, about 10-15 minutes. At the end of the interview he asked if we had any questions for him, and I asked him how we did. He said "Well, I can't really say much, but if I thought something was wrong, I would have separated you both and questioned you separately, and I didn't. So just keep your fingers crossed."
TODAY, February 2, 2018: Received approval letter in the mail, and our online case status updated to "Card was sent on February 1." Our approval letter was dated January 29, 2017, so just 5 days after our interview we were approved, and 5 days after that the card was sent.
Overall it was a good experience and we didn't have to wait that long. I thank God our journey is finally over! Good luck to everyone!
