Hello World,
I just want to announce that I was approved last month on the spot. I then received the green card like 4 days later.
little background:
I arrived in the US without inspection and lived in the US until i acquired DACA. I met my wife who I have been dating for 7 years and married for almost 2 years. I had a final order of removal at the
time of submitting my application, the process itself was very difficult and was turned away multiple times from different lawyers. Even though i had went to see one of the most prestigious lawyers in
Texas and was still told that it would take 3-4 years. I then went to visit different lawyers and finally I found the BEST LAWYER in Austin, Texas. Not only did he tell me everything the way it went but
he also gave me hope and was straight up about everything. We filed for i-130 first since we could't do the bundle because i had an order of removal. The appointment for i-130 was smooth and easy
and didn't take long. I also had submitted my advance parole since I was on DACA which was approved but didn't get enough time to be able to get my removal order dismissed on time so the advance
parole was pointless because i was still waiting for my order of deportation to be terminated. If I would've had left the US i would've self-deported since I had a removal order. It was very stressful at
the time because I had a relative that was sick and Trump at the time was talking about the terminating DACA so I was concerned that I was not going to be able to travel abroad to see my fam and be
able to adjust status in the States. We then submitted a motion to reopen with the federal court and reached out to the ICE lawyers and got them to agree to terminate and recommended that the
judge with whom we were suppose to meet with in less than 2 weeks. We then show up to the court hearing for the motion to reopen (mind you that I had my heart in my hand the whole time praying
to god that everything would go great and I had a anxiety attack the whole time) We ended up finding out that the judge was out because of his back. We then talked to his assistant who said " that he
will see about getting the judge to sign off on the termination of removal". Few days went by and we didn't hear anything, we were given another appointment in April of last Year to show up to the
hearing of my deportation. So I was sort of upset because i thought things weren't going as planned. We then get a call 2 days later from our lawyer saying that the judge signed off on the
termination of my removal order and that we could then file for advance parole, which I ended up going to the field office to request advance parole which was granted immediately on the spot and
traveled that same weekend back home for 2 days. I then returned to the states and was a easy process to get back into the states, i wasn't even asked where I had went or anything the officer only
asked for AP and then stamped my passport and proceeded to the US. We then submitted our i485 application on Feb. 8 and waiting a whole year and on December 25 i get a letter for appointment for
adjustment of status on January 4th. I showed up to the appointment and was asked about DOB, Dates, Names, and was out of there in less than 15 minutes. I was approved on the spot and received
the green card 4 days later.
If I could advice to someone going through the process is to hold on strong and have faith. Everything is possible even though others say otherwise!
I'm now a permanent resident and waiting to be eligible to become a citizen!
Please feel free to ask any questions and will respond to my best ability to help you with your case.
