  • Question about marriage during the interview

    Hi all,
I'm almost ready to file, waiting for my husband to file tax 2017.

Here is my dilemma: my husband and I decided to get married in May 2018 because of the good season and because my parents can easily come from Italy. I'm in USA with an H1B.

Now, last November there was a misunderstanding with my supervisor, she thought my contract would have been over by April 2019 even though I clearly remembered there was another contract in place to keep me until 2021. Long story short: my husband and I decided to speed up the process so we got married in January with all his family and a couple of very close friends.

Question: at the interview shall I say that we changed our plan because of the misunderstanding with my supervisor or shall I pretend that January was the original date? For May, I have invitations ready and I will have pictures of our reception.

P.s. Eventually I was right, there is another contract until 2021 so the rush was useless.

Thank you so much you all

Since you haven't had interview yet, when you have it, if they ask, explain and bring pics from Jan and May!!!
