  • My green card timeline processes

    Hi! Everyone,

I have been hidden user to immihelp for a past few month, and struggling with delay processes. I and my husband requested adjustment status based on marriage I-485- I-765. Finally I got approved so I wanna share my experience to everyone get ideas how long this process can go.
Just like me when I was nervous and worried. Maybe this can help.
My GC's center is in Oakland Park, Florida.

    Marriage 2.2.16
    Submit application 9.20.16
    Biometric 10.26.16
    Received EAD 11.23.16
Ready for interview changed in online status since December, 2016

After, I got EAD in hand, I was surprised that my GC's process was faster than any of my friend's cases and I'm excited but from that point of "ready for interview" I haven't heard anything from them at all. I looked through people's cases who submit wayyy after me get interview date...and approved...my husband though was so chilled and always calm me down. He said no one will ever taken me away from him,ok yea...right...until... July

I finally got my interview date on 8.7.2017, however I and my husband got bad luck becoz of hurricane Irma, we have no idea if we should stay in town get wipe off by hurricane and show up at immigration office at 7am or leave home. I was mad becoz I haven't heard anything from Oakland park office if my interview still rigid. Anyway, we decided to stay and the office announced that they were closed for one week. But nothing had shown if my case got rescheduled. I called USCIS and they also have no ideas....anyhow, ...

We for sure finally get another letter a week before new interview date on December 13, 2017. Thank God! Oh go back after the hurricane, I also need to renew my EAD.

At interview, i and my husband, we arrived 5 minutes early...we waited another 45 mins to be called in. The officer is a black woman. She is very nice and polite. She asked me to swear blah blah, check my ID, do my fingerprint. She has a camera in front of us. She went over paperworks asked me my past addresses(I moved alot), my job address, lots of addresses. I was kind of confused becoz I didn't remember. The IO went back like 2012 ...
Then, she started asking for house lease, which only has my name on. She asked why, How we met, where we met, where was our first date, if we have children together, if we plan any, then she looked through all my husband and I photos...lots of photos. Our wedding, receptions ( my whole family came aboard to attend like parent, brother sister, aunt, grandparent etc) we had big wedding, honeymoon, Valentine, Christmas, birthday, etc. She was like ok ok that was enough. She looked at my wedding and said we had beautiful wedding reception. THEN, she asked my updated medical checked. I and my husband for all about my biometric was expired since October...

The IO said our case will be further reviewed, and she will notify us within 90 days. But we also need to submit our updated biometric.

I came home crying because I really think my interview was suck, I answer some of wrong questions and lots of thing I didn't remember. My husband still not worried. However, I started look to my case processes time and realized that If I submit biometric after 2.2.18 then we will be 2 years and maybe getting approved for 10 years GC.

My approved I-130 with request further paper for biometic in the mail 12.16.18

We decided to do biometric after our anniversary(husband's idea)

    Submit biometric 2.14.18
We get approved on 2.20.18 with 10 years green card. And on 2.23.18 my card was sent to me shown in online status.

I really hope my timeline will help all of you and be patience!! Be ready! Be positive! Nothing comes easy and lots of prays! I believe that what will be mine, it will finally be mine when time will come. I just have to do my best everyday even though I forgot my biometric

So Good Luck, God blessed all of you.

If you have any questions please send me email.
