  • i-485 Case has transferred to another office: What does this mean

    Hi All,
Today my online Status for I-485 case has updated as follows. I am applying under EB1C category and already gave finger prints on Sept 25th 2017. Does this means they have Transfer the case for interview? Appreciate your comments base on your experience.

On February 26, 2018, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number LIN1790 YYYY XX, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by March 28, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    Hi Frankay,
have you received any clarification? I just receive the same, and I'm almost in the same situation. Just curious what is the reason could be for transferring.

Its not localy yet so no interview to be expected soon. I think will take a couple of months before they send to local office and from there you will get notified for interview.
The notice letter doesnt say much, just they tell in which office the forms are.

Hi, My E2 I-485 was received at the end of September 17, fingerprinting 11/14, and I've got the same transfer message to NBC at 02/26/18.
Currently I haven't received my EAD, what about you? The processing time in San Fernando office is currently April 17, so does it mean that I have to wait 5-6 month additionally for interview (filled date September 17)?

Thank you, however, my case was pending 5 month in Nebraska and not it was transferred to NBC and you suppose they would need next couple of month to proceed before interview?
I'm worried also that I haven't yet received my EAD too
