  • My personal Aos experience.

    Married - July 2017.
    I 485, i 130 - August 25th
    Ead and ap- sept 25th

Like i mentioned in a previous post, i made a few mistakes, we did not use a lawyer, and i did not know about this site. So i got an rfe which was received Oct 5.

Received my AP sometime in December, it wasn't a combo card, just a two page document.

Received my interview notice not to long after for the 31st of Dec.

When i submitted, i only sent the basic, no extras, my Caucasian husband is completely clueless about this process and was kinda nervous about divulging his info.

Fast forward the wait till Jan 31st.
Appointment was for 9.30 , we got there at about 9.20 ,got called in about 45mins later.
We got into his office, we swore an oath, then proceeded to ask my husband yes/no questions. Then it was my turn, more yes /no.. pretty much what was in the forms we filled. When we were done with that, he asked how we met, if we had a wedding reception(no), what family members were present , if we had kids. Then he asks, WHAT DOCUMENTS DO YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOU ARE MARRIED?? Ermm... so i show him all i have..
    1. Health insurance with our names
    2. Gas bill
    3. Electric bill
    4. Verizon bill that shows my husband pays for both lines.

So he then says, ok guys, thats all i have for you today, thank you. Then hands me a form, an RFE!! It asked for the divorce decree from my husband 1st marriage, form G25a to be filled by both of us, and 3months bank statement from both of us. Then my medical form wasn't properly filled by the doctor i used. So they needed a properly filled out medical form.

Meanwhile i have about 200 photographs that i had to print at like 2am that day. Lol , so i quickly ask.... wouldn't you like to see our photos?

For the first time, he actually almost smiled, and said sure, i'll see your photos. So he leans back in his chair, raises his glasses and starts to look at every single one of the photographs, occasionally asking where what was taken and when.
Then he hands them back to me, and says please make sure i get all the docs before ( the date) otherwise the system automatically rejects the application.
I sent them all in by the 16th of Feb.
I received my GC in the mail today!!
Only advice i have is to be 100% truthful.
And ofcourse only listen to people who know what they are talking about.
