egov.uscis.gov website has "We are ready to schedule your interview"

      Myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov has no update.

Got the email "Testing and interview"

"If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours."

So what does this mean? I guess months and months of wait? I am confused.

I would appreciate help in understanding what is happening.
Difficult to say how long it will take. Where did you apply? If you applied with offices that are notoriously fast then I think it's going to be fast, let's say months.

OKC is my field office. The processing time on the website is about 9 months.

        • No updates on both of the websites although there are many

After my walk-in for biometrics on April 10th to Tampa as mine was scheduled for 17th to NY due to my lawyer's address, I made the CoA online on the same day for all 4 cases. So far 2 (I-485 and I-130) are approved and received mails about them and the remaining 2 (I-765 and I-131) are being assigned to an officer but not being processed although days pass by. It is really making me nervous. Meanwhile although I did my biometrics walk-in on April 10th there are neither any updates on the websites nor any notifications regarding the biometrics. Just waiting and checking the website day by day. Another interesting thing is that my lawyer received a mail (I-693) regarding the medical exam reminder which was also sent on April 10th to him. Do you think that my file is is messed as it was being probably handled by NY and now it takes time to be transferred to Tampa? Not much to do I guess other than wait. Any ideas?

There are a lot of people getting their interview very quickly. I might be wrong, but the fact the you don't have an ssn might be in your favor. Since you don' have a history in USA you have nothing to hide or weird case to handle. I filed less than 2 weeks after you in a fast office (Cincinnati) so let's seat and wait. I hope something will change for me soon but it may not.

Congrats no matter what!!! And yes, many people are getting their green card without EAD or AP approved.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you question is. The medical exam last 1 year and he can be done only by specific doctors. If you have done the medical visit and you have the sealed envelope with you, take that one to the interview.

You do not need a SSN to open a bank account. Bank personnel may sometimes say that is a requirement; even though, that might just be all they know. Most major banks only require you to have a valid government issued ID. Your unexpired passport will do. Your spouse can add you to any credit card as a authorized user. You do not need a SSN for that either. Same goes for utility bills.

I am just saying that there are tons of ways of show evidence of bona fide marriage. Now, you really only had a month between filing and your interview notice. I would handle this as if it were a fiance/k-1 situation. Focus on showing evidence of how long you dated. If you still have access to those text messages, then you may use iExplorer to print them. They get printed in a format that is accepted in courtrooms. Screenshots are OK but try scrolling back to messages that are a year old and it just takes too long.

                          • Request for evidence already submitted

Hi, I was wondering if this has happened to someone else. I submitted in February for marriage based adjustment of status. Already received the NOAs and request for biometrics which is next week.

Today I received a letter of request for initial evidence asking for my marriage certificate which I sent with my original application. I sent right away anther copy of the marriage certificate with a copy of the request for evidence letter but I'm worried if there's something wrong with my certificate? I sent an original but I have many originals. The court gave us many copies which they all say they're regionals. And it says that it is a felony to copy that document (it is written in red in the same document. Is a certificate from Wisconsin). So I am afraid of copying it and someone saying I did a felony. So I just sent another original. I appear with my maiden name and the application was sent with my married name. But I have my maiden name in the list of other names. Don't know if that can be? I called immigration and they said to send it again that they could have overlooked it. But the certificate is a big blue document bigger than all others, it's impossible to overlook it.

                            Thanks!

Good! That way, you won't get the often asked question "did you guys just meet one day and got married the next?". By the way, the SSN becomes an issue if you try to open the account online. If you walk into a branch, you'll have better luck.

Hi, I have a small question. The RFE letter had two addresses where it could be sent to: one for Regular Mail and other for "Express Mail or Courier Deliveries". What is Courier Deliveries? I sent by UPS next day air. Is that Courier? Just want to be sure I sent tot the right address thanks!
