It might have been the glitch or not. That field office does get less traffic, but I have a feeling people get RFEs left and right. Hence, the slow processing times.
San Antonio is not exactly speedy BUT as long as you do not have any RFEs and you stay on top of your case bugging them, then it will move forward. There is no reason to sit around for 18 months for an interview. That's almost 2 years. Sure, you'd likely be going for the 10 year card. If citizenship is not your goal, that's probably fine. But for those who want citizenship ASAP, that's a long delay.
Houston is tied with Minneapolis Field Office. They're both just as slow. We decided we're moving. Our case made it to the "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" stage within 39 days. So per the last level 2 officer, we're supposed to sit around between 14.5 months and 23.5 months for a green card. Nonsense. I'm tired of 9 months of winter, anyhow. We're getting out. So if you have a choice in the matter, then it's up to you. The system glitch is not going to affect everyone.
here is the link to one of the Houston threads. https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...n-Texas-Filers
