Hello could somebody please help me out with this question?
I accidentally listed my father's birth of place incorrectly on I485 (the same province but different city in China). He passed away 10 years ago and I just mistakenly used the city he lived most of his life before he died. In my Mom's ds160 form the birth place of her deceased spouse (my father) was listed correctly. So the I485 is not consistent with DS160 already.
I just did the finger print 10 days ago (not sure if it's for I 485 or for EAD). What should I do next to correct the error? Call the hotline to correct it with the agent? Or send in an letter to somewhere? Or wait until the interview (the interview might be a year from now)? Will this affect my background check if I wait until interview time? I will not be able to provide my father's birth certificate because he was born in war time and there was no birth certificate.
