i-485 application pending

Hi all,
I have filled for my mother green card on 26th dec 2017 and then received the docs on 3rd jan , biometrics in done on 22nd jan 2018. since then there is no update on the case. I have called the usics and they are saying the case is with national benefit center and the processing time is 9 months to 12 months !!
My mother has to attend her son wedding so really worried , I have filled for I-131 but some of our friends r saying its risky.
Kindly advice . Earlier it used to take 3-4 months and now its taking 9-12 months ?

why is this happening

Processing times vary from case to case and are also dependent on local office. The general consensus is the Trump effect is slowing things down and there has been an increase in application due increased interior enforcement by ICE.
As far as advance parole is concerned there is a very low risk she would be denied reentry unless she has criminal issues in her background.
